Macular choroidal neovascularization secondary to pathologic myopia
Differential Diagnosis
- Age-related macular degeneration: more likely in an older patient with associated ocular findings consistent with the disease
- Presumed ocular histoplasmosis syndrome: would expect to see lesions in other areas of the eye
- Traumatic choroidal rupture: no history of trauma
- Post retinal laser photocoagulation: no such history in this patient
- Angioid streaks: no angioid streaks in this patient
