Case 35 Diagnosis

Basal laminar drusen with vitelliform exudative macular detachment

Differential Diagnosis

  • Fundus albipunctata: yellow flecks are scattered more outside the arcades
  • Best’s disease: usually fewer flecks. Can have severely abnormal electrooculogram.
  • Pseudoxanthoma elasticum: would expect to see angioid streaks
