Case 137 Exam

  • Visual Acuity

    OD 20/20

    OS 20/40

  • Pupils: relative afferent pupillary defect present on the right
  • Extraocular motility, alignment, and intraocular pressures were normal OU
  • Confrontation visual fields were normal in the left eye, but demonstrate mild temporal loss in the right eye
  • Slit lamp examination of the right eye demonstrated a nasal pterygium with Stocker line, small keratic precipitates throughout the corneal endothelium.  There is trace anterior segment cell and 2+ anterior vitreous cell.  Slit lamp examination of the left eye was normal except for a nasal pterygium with Stocker line.

    • nFTA – Negative
    • RPR – Negative
    • Toxocara canis antibodies – negative
    • Lyme antibody studies – negative
    • Bartonella henselae antibody studies - negative
    • ESR - normal
    • ACE – normal
    • ANA – normal
    • PPD – positive
    • Toxoplasma gondii  antibody study IgM – negative
    • Toxoplasma gondii  antibody study IgG – positive
