- Report symptoms of cold, flu or infections to your surgeon. If it is later than 5 p.m. the day before surgery, please call the Outpatient Surgery Unit at 734-936-9316 and leave a message.
- Do not drink alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours before and after surgery.
- Do not eat any food after midnight before your surgery. This includes gum, hard candy and cough drops. You may have water, apple juice (no substitutes), coffee or tea (without cream, sugar or sweetener) until two hours prior to arrival for surgery. Please do not consume any carbonated beverages. If you have diabetes, please bring apple juice with you in case you need it.
