Dr. Del Monte and "Big Ten" colleagues take eye care to Vietnam
ANN ARBOR, MI - Kellogg's Monte Del Monte, M.D., takes eye care to children in Da Nang, Vietnam. Dr. Del Monte and Big Ten ophthalmologists—including his son, Derek who graduated from the U-M Medical School—are the focus of the Michigan Difference series on the Big Ten Network, at 4 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, on Comcast Ch. 65. You'll also see ophthalmology alumnus, Dr. Keith Carter, now chair of Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa. The team of ophthalmologists traveled with ORBIS, an international program dedicated to saving sight.
The televised program, part of the "Michigan Difference" series featuring Michigan faculty and students, was produced for U-M Campus Programming by Evolution Media.
The Big Ten Network airs on Comcast channels 65, 255 and 256 (256 is Big Ten HD). The episode will be rebroadcast on the Big Ten Network and, later, on Michigan Television, WFUM-TV.
