March - August 2007 - Construction
Construction for the Eye Center Expansion is on schedule for completion in the winter of 2010. We invite you to view step-by-step photos of the site as construction began in earnest — from digging the hole to pouring the foundation to putting up the steel. (49 photos)
August - September 2007 - Construction
Structural steel continued to rise throughout August and September. By the end of the month decking was in place through the seventh floor and concrete had been poured on floors one through six. We are beginning to frame the exterior walls. The project remains on schedule. (43 photos)
November 6, 2007 - Topping Out
The Kellogg Eye Center held a "topping-out" ceremony on Tuesday, November 6, 2007. The occasion marked a major point of construction on the expansion to the Kellogg Eye Center, scheduled to open in late 2009. (26 photos)
October 2007 - August 2008 - Construction
The outside of the building is now almost complete. These photographs show the progression of bricks being laid and glass being hung from October 2007 through August 2008. The inside of the building also moves along steadily as rooms, walls, and corridors take shape. (16 photos)
