Wavefront LASIK
Personalized Vision Correction using the Zyoptix system
Wavefront LASIK often is called customized or personalized LASIK. At Kellogg we use the Zyoptix system by Bausch & Lomb. This computerized system traces the unique contours of your eyes and produces a precise three-dimensional map of the total focusing system of the eye. This mapping allows your physician to detect tiny aberrations and then develop an individualized treatment plan for each eye.
Wavefront is used in conjunction with a vision correction laser, such as IntraLase and the excimer laser. The Wavefront system — Kellogg surgeons use the Zyoptix™ system from Bausch & Lomb—collects the data that the surgeon then uses to perform the procedure.
Wavefront technology is based on principles used in the Hubble Telescope. The result for our patients—and those who participated in a recent clinical trial—is an exceptionally high level of visual clarity.
