Catherine is the lead ophthalmic technician in the Refractive Surgery Service where she has been a member since 2004. She handles evaluations and provides surgical assistance and post-operative care. She also assists faculty at seminars on LASIK and other refractive surgeries.
Catherine has earned her C.O.A. (certified ophthalmic assistant) certification through JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology).
Prior to joining Kellogg, Catherine worked as a special education teacher with Lutheran Special Education Ministries. She attended the Franciscan University of Steubenville (Ohio) and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education/Special Education. She moved to the U.S. to attend college after growing up in Mexico and Venezuela. Catherine is fluent in Spanish.

Jackie joined the Refractive Surgery Service as an ophthalmic technician in 2005. She is responsible for scheduling, screenings, surgical assistance, and post-operative visits. She also responds to patients who call in with questions about surgery.
Before making the move to the Refractive Surgery Service, Jackie worked as a technician in Kellogg’s Canton and Livonia offices. She joined Kellogg in 1998 as an outpatient office assistant and then began attending the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology (DIO) in hopes of becoming an ophthalmic technician. After graduating from the DIO, Jackie earned her C.O.A. (certified ophthalmic assistant) certification through JCAHPO (Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology).
